3. London Symbology

Walking around London looking for interesting symbolism was like being a kid in a candy shop! So much to see in such a small area. Most of it was found in the square mile of 'The City of London' being the financial capital of the world.

Here is a pic of the front door of the Bank of England. You have to ask what this has got to do with banking... Then again, snakes are reptiles!

These images below  were facing each other at the Bank underground train station. This is the station right in the middle of the City of London.

Again, references to reptiles this time in the form of Dragons.

Makes you wonder if they really were mythical creatures or maybe a representation of reptile beings? Who really knows?

This is an interesting one taken outside one of the law courts. Why is it interesting you ask? The english flag appearing above what seems like waves of the sea. Maritime law perhaps?

For some reason, the security guard was not happy with me taking the above picture.

Freemason symbology is frequently represented in checkered boxes. Black and white is common but black can also be replaced with other colours. This pic below was taken in the Southwark Cathedral.

And here is another example.

There was a lot of speculation about a year ago about the royals having left Bucky Palace. The crests were allegedly taken down and all windows were boarded up or blackened. Well, its not the case as of last week. If the crests were taken down, it was to give them a clean up I'd say.

Below is a close up of the crest. Again, another mythical creature appears.

The lion represents England, and the unicorn represents Scotland.
