7. Reflections on trip to date

Thoughts going through my head...

Over the last six months, people have asked me how our holiday is going. 

Well, 'holiday' isn't the word I would use. It has been and continues to be an 'adventure'. Unexpected things can happen as they did and the challenge was to be able to make decisions under pressure, adapt and move on. 

And  I believe it's been a life lesson for the future. The world is changing rapidly and it seems all countries are bringing in the same ideologies which we all know is not a coincidence. Governments are targeting free-thinkers worldwide. Just recently the Queensland government announced bringing in 2500 police recruits over 5 years from overseas and in the same week, they're saying that Qld police are now on the lookout for 'dangerous thinkers'. Do you think this foreign police force will have any empathy for the ordinary Australian? 

Here in Europe, there is plenty of discussion on the Turkey earthquakes and the war in Ukraine. A Romanian senator has gone public accusing the US of using energy weapons in Turkey. I was also horrified to hear over 300,000 Ukraine troops have been killed so far in a war that could have been thwarted if anyone bothered to try and broker peace. Zelensky has also herded civilians into strategic military buildings to inflate casualties. I'm pretty sure the Australian media haven't covered this.

The UK and Germany are sending weapons to Ukraine and, it might not be long before things heat right up.

China and Russia and forming stronger ties while the US are housing nukes in their B1 bombers in Australia. When asked in parliament about nukes being housed, the Australian foreign minister said that the US do not have to disclose that to Australia! Seriously?

It's hard to know where to be but I'm grateful we are in a position where we can move anywhere in the world within 30 minutes' notice...while transport is still available of course! For us, it's about sticking together as a family. The thought of being in Australia whilst Daniel is in Europe at these times is daunting. We all know that governments are capable of shutting borders with little notice or justified reason.

Is there a 'safe' country anywhere in this world? Who knows!

So far we have been to Thailand, London, Portugal, Turkey and Italy and apart from the obvious enjoyment of the cultures, food, people and architecture, I've felt isolated so far as we have not come across any like-minded souls. They obviously exist but we haven't crossed paths to date.

When we head back to the UK in about 10 days and both Max and I are drawn to visiting ley line energy points including Stonehenge, Glastonbury and standing stone sites.  'Maybe we will find kindred spirits there...
